No, its not true, there are lots of misconceptions out there about trans people, but most of the time once the shock wears off and they actually learn something and chill out. Most people aren’t truly rotten
I volunteered with a summer program for disabled kids, and one of the kids was a FtM 15 year old. At one point, he and this one girl were bonding because they both had multiple psych diagnoses (ADHD, autism spectrum, etc). I commented on this happily to the other volunteers, because I thought it was a positive sign that these two were connecting. Their reply? “I hope she doesn’t get [other girl] trying to be a boy too.” (Other girl shows absolutely no sign of gender issues, although she’s a little bit tomboyish.)
